Wizkid addressed criticism regarding his alleged disrespectful comments towards Don Jazzy, a prominent music producer.
Renowned Nigerian musician Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, has responded after his comments about Don Jazzy’s role as an influencer stirred up online debate and discussion.
Wizkid’s response to Ladipoe’s mockery of his “Hip Hop is dead” statement follows Ladipoe’s affiliation with Don Jazzy’s record label.
Wizkid’s dismissive attitude towards Ladipoe stems from the latter’s connection to an industry influencer, rather than any personal or professional disagreement.
Following Wizkid’s comment referring to Don Jazzy as an “influencer,” numerous online users expressed their disapproval, including VeryDarkMan who criticized Wizkid’s rudeness.
Despite starting the day with a heated exchange, Wizkid later calmed the situation by declaring that Jesus is the ultimate authority, he tweeted: “Jesus is King!”
In related entertainment news, renowned Nigerian musician Oritsefemi has expressed his belief that Wizkid was justified in referring to Don Jazzy as an influencer, rather than as a music producer.
According to Oritsefemi; “It makes people come to you so you can use your influence over them… I don’t see anything wrong with being called an influencer. Is the word ‘influencer’ a bad thing?… A content creator and an influencer are not the same thing. Besides, who is a content creator without an influencer? So, influencers have a big name and you guys are undermining it.”
