Zappacosta: “The Europa League title with Atalanta is better than with Chelsea”

A 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen gave Zappacosta his second Europa League title. He won his first while still at Chelsea.

He told Sky Italia:

“I won this title for the second time and I’m proud of the progress the boys have made. We beat strong teams and we showed a lot of power today. We are very happy”.

“The spirit of winners has always been in us, every time we met any opponent, knowing that we could win. Incredible result. Matches like the one against Liverpool give us strength, but overall we have had an outstanding season.”

“The coach competently prepares us for each meeting and the results come by themselves… We pressed, pressed, did not switch off and deserved the victory.”

Asked which is better, the Europa League title with Atalanta or Chelsea, Zappacosta added:

“The title with Atalanta has more weight and a different taste. I am convinced that popular unrest awaits us in Bergamo.”
