A 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen gave Zappacosta his second Europa League title. He won his first while still at Chelsea.
He told Sky Italia:
“I won this title for the second time and I’m proud of the progress the boys have made. We beat strong teams and we showed a lot of power today. We are very happy”.

Asked which is better, the Europa League title with Atalanta or Chelsea, Zappacosta added:
“The title with Atalanta has more weight and a different taste. I am convinced that popular unrest awaits us in Bergamo.”
