Yvonne Jegede, a prominent figure in Nollywood, has recently revealed the reason behind her decision to end her marriage.

Jegede pointed out that her substantial financial support was one of the key factors in comparison to her ex-husband.

This information surfaced following the confirmation of her divorce from actor Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole in 2019.

In a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast shared on Instagram, the actress shared her emotional journey of choosing love over financial stability.

Additionally, she mentioned that her ex-husband’s sensitivity towards jokes, which he often perceived as disrespectful due to their age gap, also contributed to their decision to part ways.

She mentioned that her ex-husband is eight years older than her. However, whenever she tried to point out his flaws, he accused her of disrespecting him.

Despite this, the age gap wasn’t the primary reason for ending the marriage. She revealed that she was the main breadwinner and solely responsible for her son’s well-being. This led her to prioritize financial stability over love.
