1) HAVE STANDARDS
From dozens of practical counseling sessions I’ve done over the years, I’ve come to realize a lot of people who end up regretting their decision to date a person actually proposed to that person or accepted the person’s proposals using no standards to first access them.
He asks you out, and you accepted, what were the standards you used in accessing him? He’s cute? And what else?
You see a lady, you like her, what standards did she meet before you proposed to her? Hips and Shape?
MOST ladies use no spiritual standards to access a potential date before accepting him, this is one of the reasons most ladies end up with bad boys.
Without standards, you’ll end up dating people you shouldn’t date and regretting.
Your standards serve as a filter to seive between the good and the bad.
Your standards should be IDEALISTIC, yet REALISTIC.
As a child of God, your standards should include:
A) He/she must be a child of God (not just a church goer).
B) He/She should show basic level of Maturity (spiritually, emotionally, financially etc) not recklessness.
C) He/She must not use/abuse subatance like alcohol, drugs, tobacco etc (except you yourself are guilty of this)
D) He/She should have good and godly friends.
2) DON’T BE IN A HURRY
Take your time to get to first know and study the Person you want to go into a Relationship with and possibly marry before you then propose or accept their proposal.
That little delay to study the person can save you from regret and time wastage.
3) DON’T COMPROMISE.
How can you say you want a God fearing Man and you accept the proposal of a yahoo boy?
You see someone who doesn’t look like what you know is right for you, but simply because you want to be in a Relationship, you enter into it. You’ll most likely date the Devil or one of his Demons this way.
3) DON’T STAY
Once the relationship proves to be toxic, leave as soon as possible and learn your lessons from it
Staying in a toxic relationship doesn’t untoxify it.. You’re only increasing the duration of your exposure to abuse and torture.
He/she is hitting you, don’t stay.
They’re cheating on you unrepentantly, moveeee.
Respect yourself enough to leave a Relationship that is harmful to you and your well-being.
