Dear Business:
Are you still struggling daily with your business’s internal processes and staff performance? I wrote this just for you; ensure you read and implement it. One of the most significant difficulties a lot of businesses struggle with is the lack of a STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (S.O.P.).
Everything happens anyhow, anytime, and in any way. which had an equally negative impact on achieving your business’s goal and objective, if only you can intentionally get it right via S.O.P., I can assure you everything in your business will be on autopilot, and the best possible outcome is assured every single time.
I understand that you may be wondering precisely what this STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (S.O.P) is all about and why you should care about it in your company.
No matter what type of business you are in, you should have well-defined Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P) documents that will assist your employees (old and new) in clearly understanding the step-by-step instructions on how to correctly perform a specific task or routine job in a safe, compliant, and consistent manner no matter who completes the task. As a result of your absence as a company owner,
80–90 per cent of the owners of Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) are unable to take a 48-hour leave of absence or leave because their company lacks a STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (S.O.P.). This is because they are the Alpha and omega of the organisation.
So, as a business owner, you should kindly take note. Please keep in mind that there is a formal Standard Operating Procedure document that will educate you on how to create one and that there are several measures you can do that can assist you in organizing your ideas and creating a plan.
🛑 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐍 𝗪𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃:
When documenting your S.O.P. as a business owner, you must have a clear understanding of what you want to achieve as the end result. Are its procedures repeated daily, weekly, and monthly?
🛑 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐀 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓:
As I said before, you are at full liberty to design your S.O.P the best way it fits into your business model. This format is intended for routine procedures that are brief and simple enough for anyone to follow at any time.
🛑 𝐀𝐒𝐊 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐏𝐔𝐓:
You need to keep your team in the loop and make sure they have a say in the document. There should be room for multiple drafts and reviews, and you should make sure to invite your team to look over the drafts so they can make suggestions that will help the plan last when it’s put into action.
🛑 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐄:
You must keep in mind that the job description (J.D.) and the various departmental roles are critical and should be considered when writing the SOP on how they will improve productivity and turnaround time.
🛑 𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐘 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓:
Your ability to have a clear insight into your client’s behaviour will give you a well-detailed mental picture of what you want to achieve from them, your business system, & your team.
🛑 𝗪𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒.𝐎.𝐏:
When writing your S.O.P you should follow the steps,
Name of the S.O.P
Process tag numbers
Documentation date
Initiator, Approval, Unit, Team Lead, etc.

Incorporate relevant edits and suggestions to improve your S.O.P
Kindly note that S.O.P is subject to quarterly and yearly reviews to ensure you are always on track with your current industry trends.
To run a successful business amidst the current reality in your country, your business must have a proper autopilot system and a well-structured business for you to be proactive.
