Nico Williams, the star of Spanish football and the main hero of Euro 2024, has found himself at the center of a transfer war between London clubs, Tribalfootball reports.
Chelsea are ready to activate the player’s release clause (€58 million) and offer him a salary of €15 million per year (three times more than he currently receives!).
However, after learning of the Blues’ offer, Arsenal entered the race for Williams. The Gunners are also ready to pay the player’s release clause and offer him a lucrative contract.
Williams himself is rumored to be dreaming of Barcelona. But the Catalans simply don’t have the same financial means as the London clubs.
It looks like Barca will have to carry out a major fire sale first to raise the necessary funds, something that club president Joan Laporta is already actively pursuing.
