President William Samoei Ruto has revealed his new Cabinet nominations, which include both new faces and familiar names from the previous administration.
Ruto stated that this first batch of Cabinet nominees will be instrumental in driving the urgent and irreversible transformation that the country requires.
The 11 new Cabinet nominees will join six former Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) who have been reappointed to their positions.
The reappointed CSs are:
- Kithure Kindiki (Interior)
- Alice Wahome (Public Works)
- Aden Duale (Defence)
- Davis Chirchir (Roads)
- Soipan Tuya (Environment)
While Kindiki, Duale, and Tuya will retain their previous dockets, Wahome has been moved from the Lands ministry, and Chirchir previously held the Energy docket.
Additionally, Rebecca Miano, the former CS for Industry and Trade, has been nominated for the position of Attorney General.
Ruto emphasized that further consultations are ongoing, and he will announce more names for Cabinet positions in due course.
This Cabinet lineup is expected to play a crucial role in Ruto’s vision for the “urgent and irreversible transformation” of Kenya.
