President William Samoei Ruto has dismissed at least six former Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) from their positions.

The move comes amid heightened protests by the country’s youth and a “holistic appraisal” of the previous cabinet’s performance.
The former CSs who have lost their positions are:
- Susan Nakhumicha (Health)
- Ezekiel Machogu (Education)
- Mithika Linturi (Agriculture)
- Zachary Njeru (Water)
- Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport)
- Eliud Owalo (ICT)
Additionally, the position of Attorney General has been taken over by former Trade CS Rebecca Miano, replacing Justin Muturi.
Ruto has named the following individuals as the new Cabinet Secretaries:
- Debra Mulongo Barasa (Health)
- Julius Ogambo (Education)
- Andrew Karanja (Agriculture)
- Davis Chirchir (Transport)
- Eric Muriithi (Water)
- Margaret Ndung’u (ICT)
This sweeping cabinet shakeup comes amid public scrutiny over alleged displays of opulence and incompetence by some of the former CSs.
