President William Samoei Ruto has nominated Beatrice Askul Moe to serve as the Cabinet Secretary for the East African Community Affairs (EAC) and Regional Development.
Prior to this appointment, Moe held the position of County Executive Committee Member in charge of Water, Irrigation, Agriculture and Land Reclamation in Turkana County Government.
The nomination, announced in a communiqué to the Cabinet on Tuesday by Chief of Staff Felix Koskei, highlights Moe’s impressive credentials and experience.
Koskei praised Moe’s specialized skills in development and management of community affairs, as well as her expertise in driving behavioral and social change within communities.
Moe’s professional background is extensive, including roles as Director of the Rift Valley Water Services Board, Chairperson of the Technical Committee and Audit Committee for the same board, Project Officer for the AMREF Kenya Turkana Project, and Relief Officer for the Oxfam Turkana Relief Program.
Furthermore, Moe has undertaken various certifications and trainings, including a County Induction Course at the Kenya School of Government, a Corporate Governance Course, and training in community-based development, among others.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences (Social Work) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Governance and Ethics.
