Celebrated Nigerian artist Onyeka Onwenu,aged 72, tragically collapsed and died following a vibrant performance at a festive gathering in Lagos.
After performing at a birthday celebration, she suddenly collapsed upon returning to her seat.
She was rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos, where she was later declared deceased.
Onyeka Onwenu’s passing has left many questions unanswered. Born on May 31, 1952, she made a lasting impact on the entertainment world for more than forty years.
She was a well-known singer, songwriter, actress, journalist, and politician, excelling in each of these fields. Her first album, “In The Morning Light,” was launched in 1984 by Polygram Records.
Some of her most beloved songs include “One Love,” “Iyogogo,” and “Ekwe.”
