The week looks likely to be dominated by Dani Olmo in a Barcelona sense, with the 26-year-old scheduled to be presented officially on Friday. Yet before the week is out, Flick will tell the sporting commission, which includes Sporting Director Deco, Player Liaison Bojan Krkic and Vice-President Rafa Yuste, which players he does not want.
He will also make calls on which youngsters will stay with the senior squad, with Marc Casado, Marc Bernal, Hector Fort and Pau Victor looking the most likely candidates, say Diario AS. A number of cuts will have to be made though, particularly at centre-back, with eight options on the books currently. Clement Lenglet and Vitor Roque look like prime candidates to exit, while there is also talk of Julian Araujo and Mikayil Faye leaving too.
There are other less clear cases like that of Pablo Torre, who was one of Barcelona’s best performers against Real Madrid and Manchester City. There is talk that Flick would like him registered for the first team, but with so much competition for places in his position, it seems highly likely he will leave.
