On Wednesday afternoon (21 August), Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media to announce the launch of his new YouTube channel “UR Cristiano” with eight short videos already uploaded on the home page.
The videos already uploaded on Ronaldo’s channel are of a more personal nature with the player discussing ‘perfect happiness’, the pressure of being a global icon with his partner Georgina Rodriguez featuring heavily in some of the the videos. The videos are complimented with a series of TikTok style shorts.
Within the space of 24 hours, the channel had already amassed more than 20 million subscribers with the number growing continually with many fans across social media platforms confident that the Al Nassr striker is on track to challenge MrBeast with the most popular YouTube channel on the planet.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed Instagram account in the world with the Portuguese boasting 636 million followers, ahead of Argentine striker Lionel Messi and singer/actress Selena Gomez with Ronaldo also having 112 million followers on X and only time will tell if the Madeira native can catch the American YouTuber MrBeast who holds the record of YouTube followers with more than 310 million.
Return to Saudi Pro League action for CR7
The Portuguese striker is back in action on the pitch on Thursday night as Al Nassr kickstart their 2024/25 Roshn Saudi League campaign with a game at home to Al Raed with the striker from Madeira still anxious to claim his first major silverware with the Riyadh based outfit.
Cristiano’s last silverware came with Juventus back in 2021 and his time with Al Nassr has seen stiff competition form a consistently strong Al Hilal team who who have proved to be Nassr’s recent nemesis winning the Saudi Arabian Super Cup and the Saudi Arabian King’s Cup.
