In a tragic turn of events, Christianah Idowu, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta State (FUNAAB), is set to be laid to rest today, September 19, at the Sabo Ikorodu Cemetery in Lagos State.

The young woman’s life was cut short under harrowing circumstances, as she was reportedly k!lled by a friend following a ransom demand made to her parents.

This heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the university community and beyond.

Christianah who had embarked on a journey from her home in the Itaoluwo area of Ikorodu to the University of Lagos, where she was engaged in her industrial training.

However, her path took a dark twist when she was abducted along the Ikorodu-Yaba road. The kidnappers reached out to her family, demanding a ransom of N3 million for her safe return.

Disturbingly, it was later revealed that her abduction and subsequent murder were orchestrated by her friend, Adeleye Ayomide, a second-year Philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University.

The situation surrounding Ayomide has led to his detention by the police, with plans for a court arraignment set to unfold following the completion of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities are diligently working to gather all necessary evidence before proceeding with formal charges.
