Queen Margrethe of Denmark has been admitted to the hospital following a fall at her residence, Fredensborg Castle.
The 84-year-old monarch is reported to be in stable condition, although she will be kept under medical observation for the time being, as confirmed by a palace statement.
This incident has led to the cancellation of her planned appearance at an event at Aarhus University scheduled for Friday, raising concerns among her loyal subjects.
Queen Margrethe, celebrated for her lively spirit and distinctive habits, including a love for chain-smoking and an affection for dachshunds, made her most recent public appearance on Monday at the Rungstedlund Prize 2024 ceremony at the Karen Blixen Museum.
Although she declared her intention to step down during her New Year’s Eve speech last year, the queen remains actively involved in royal responsibilities alongside her son, showcasing her steadfast dedication to her position.
