Learnered youth from the Murulle community, particularly from the Ali Sharmake subtribe, gathered at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) to discuss the vital role of family unity in fostering a cohesive society.
The meeting highlighted how strong family bonds can serve as a foundation for healthier communities.
The central theme of the event was “The Importance of Family Unity and Togetherness.”
Speakers at the gathering encouraged the youth to embrace values such as mutual support, respect, and understanding within families.
“When families are united, they can create a positive impact in the community,” said Abdullahi noor dakane, one of the event organizers. “It all starts at home.”
The meeting also featured a poignant reminder from a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H), shared by youth leader Abdikani adan
He quoted, “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” [Sahih Muslim 2586].
This powerful message underscored the importance of collective well-being and support.
“I believe that strong family ties can lead to a brighter future for our community,” said eynash haji Hussein a participant. “We need to work together and support one another, just like the limbs of a body.”
The event concluded with a call to action, urging participants to implement the principles of unity and togetherness in their daily lives.
“It is our responsibility to cultivate these values,” said Abdimalik Tifow
“Only then can we build a harmonious and resilient society.” He added
As the youth left the KICC, they carried with them a renewed commitment to strengthening family bonds and fostering a culture of unity within their community.
