The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe today met Kenya Head of State, President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi, Kenya on Friday, 20 December 2024.
Dr Motsepe was in Kenya as part of his working visit to the three countries that will host the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship 2024 (CHAN). Yesterday, he was in Tanzania. Later on Friday, he will travel to Uganda.
CAF President Dr Motsepe and President Ruto discussed preparations for the CHAN tournament. He thanked President Ruto for his continued support of football in Kenya. The CAF President was joined by CAF 4th Vice-President Seidou Mbombo Njoya, Chairperson of the CHAN Organising Committee, as well as CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba.
They also met with newly elected Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed, as well as the CHAN 2024 Local Organising Committee, including chairperson Nicholas Musonye.
Dr Motsepe visited Kasarani and the Nyayo National Stadium and a number of training venues.
