The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe met with Uganda Head of State, His Excellency Yoweri Museveni in Kampala, Uganda on Friday night, 20 December 2024.
The engagement was part of a two-day working visit to the three countries that will host the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship 2024 (CHAN) next year.
During their meeting, which was also attended by other Government officials and FUFA President Moses H Magogo, Dr Motsepe thanked President Museveni for his role in promoting football development in Uganda and the East Africa region.
President Museveni thanked Dr Motsepe for his work in growing African football and assured him of his commitment to making CHAN, and the preparations for thek CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027, a success.
Dr Motsepe was joined by CAF 4th Vice-President Seidou Mbombo Njoya, Chairperson of the CHAN Organising Committee.
The CAF President visited the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole to see progress made in the preparations for CHAN. He also visited training venues for teams.
The CAF Boss had earlier met with the president of Tanzania and Kenya during his visit.
