The former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has firmly refuted claims suggesting that he has aligned himself with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any other political faction, labeling such assertions as mere fabrications.
In a strong response to the spread of misinformation, El-Rufai has also indicated that he may pursue legal measures against those he deems responsible for disseminating these false narratives.
The ex-governor took to his official X account to share his thoughts, urging the public to overlook the recent report that has been circulating. His statement aims to clarify any misunderstandings that may have arisen from the information presented.
The ex Kaduna governor stated; “Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,”
The ex-governor of Kaduna has made headlines once again, as an aide to the ex governor, who preferred to remain anonymous, recently spoke out regarding the swirling rumors of El-Rufai’s potential defection to another political party.
In a telephone conversation, the aide firmly dismissed these claims, labeling them as nothing more than the fabrications of those seeking to stir trouble.
An aide has firmly dismissed recent claims describing it as the work of troublemakers; “It is the handwork of mischief makers. I don’t want to talk about the social media post by the mischief-maker, but the report is false. The former governor did not join PDP or any other party.”
On Sunday, various online platforms and social media users circulated reports suggesting that Nasir el-Rufai rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with intentions to run for the presidential election in 2027.
This development has caught the attention of political observers, particularly given el-Rufai’s previous role as governor and his significant influence in Kaduna State.
According to these reports, the former governor has reportedly obtained a PDP membership card from the Ungwan Sarki area in Kaduna North.
This move comes on the heels of ongoing speculation regarding el-Rufai’s political future, especially after he was notably absent from President Tinubu’s cabinet, having been excluded by the Senate due to security concerns.
