Controversial Nigerian influencer Bobrisky, known for his cross-dressing, has appealed to Grammy-winner Burna Boy on behalf of fellow singer Speed Darlington.
This move has garnered attention on social media, as Bobrisky is often involved in controversies. Darlington is facing defamation charges from Burna Boy after publicly questioning the validity of Burna Boy’s Grammy award.
In October 2024, Darlington was arrested on cyberstalking and defamation charges at Burna Boy’s request. The dispute has since become a high-profile case.
Darlington’s arrest stemmed from his public questioning of Burna Boy’s Grammy win, hinting at possible favoritism from Diddy.
Despite spending time in custody, he was released on bail in October 2024. The case continued, and a court in December 2024 deemed his detention illegal and ordered his release.
However, reports indicate that the police ignored the court’s decision and kept Darlington in custody.
On Instagram, Bobrisky implored Burna Boy to release Speed Darlington from prison immediately. He claims Darlington has been incarcerated for 45 days, a sufficient punishment.
Bobrisky emphasized the harsh conditions in prison and appealed to Burna Boy’s compassion, requesting him to prioritize mercy over justice.
In a post made on Instagram story he caption; “I just wanna mind my business dis year and stay away from anything that connect with Nigeria celebrities. But my soft heart won’t stop me thinking of many things. Pls burna boy forgive speed. Pls prison is not a nice place. I don’t think he has money for Vip section cos it’s expensive. Pls.”
“Fans learn how to tell ur favorite the truth when they are crossing d limit. You all were applauding speeding when he was saying a lot of upleasant things to him, now none of you are in prison with him now. I don’t know burnaboy before or ever met him. I’m just human that all.”
“None of dis people I’m using my platform to stand for did d same for me when it was my time, but you know what? Our heart is different. I can’t just stand human being hurt. I pray burna pls release him 45days in prison that’s enough punishment”.
