The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has expressed his enthusiasm for new opportunities after securing a seat on the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Okraku’s election at CAF’s 14th Extraordinary Congress in Cairo makes him the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the committee.

His name has also been floated as a potential candidate for CAF’s 1st Vice President position following the resignation of Augustine Senghor.

Widely regarded across West Africa as a competent and innovative leader, Okraku’s growing influence aligns with calls for increased Anglophone representation in CAF’s leadership.

“I want to make full use of this opportunity. I don’t know what the future holds, but truth be told, whatever opportunities that come my way, I will give my absolute best,” he told freelance journalist Alexia Laura Ehiagwina, as reported by 3Sports.

On revitalizing Ghana football, Okraku acknowledged the challenges ahead but remained optimistic.

“I think we started a journey after the game had collapsed, and I always said it would be very demanding.

“But I have always said that we would do it. To rebuild a building that has been crushed takes a lot of effort, a lot of investment, and a lot of patience. I will always ask for patience and for us to build together. When we do this, our collective future will be better,” he added.
