Nigerian musician and songwriter Timi Dakolo has expressed his discontent with Gospel Minister Pastor Femi Lazarus, labeling him as hypocritical. Dakolo emphasized that his remarks are rooted in a genuine sense of love and respect for the minister.
In a recent social media post, the artist shared his annoyance over a $150 fee for attending Femi Lazarus’ Ministry School. This frustration is particularly notable given the pastor’s past comments denouncing other gospel figures for their practice of charging for similar educational initiatives.
He highlighted that the pastor claimed that those who monetize their ministry are not authentic gospel artists but simply entertainers. It was quite ironic, however, that the pastor was himself charging $150 for his ministry school, which appeared to contradict his own statements.
He expressed that all of this was conveyed with genuine love and respect, sir.
He wrote: “All this was said in love and with respect sir.
“I am not a gospel artist but a Christain raised in church.
“Let’s not shift the goal post.
“By your definition, if anyone charges to minister, they are not Gospel artist, they performers.
“And by that definition, if any preacher charges to teach and minister, they are merchants of hope and motivational speakers and performers too.
“Sir, you are charging as low as 150 dollars per person for your school of ministry. Teaching and preaching Jesus. Probably having as much as 1000 students . Let’s do the maths. You even have premium and standard for God house?
Are you not selling the Gift and revelation freely given to you?
“Let’s not shift the goal post.
While Sharing receipts of the alleged transaction, Timi accused the pastor of selling the “Gift and Revelation” that was freely given to him by God.
