Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi has signed a new sponsorship deal with American sportswear brand Under Armour.
The 25-year-old will wear the company’s Shadow Elite 3 boots and feature in upcoming campaigns across its performance and lifestyle ranges. No financial details of the agreement have been disclosed.
Under Armour released a promotional video to mark the signing, featuring Hakimi in various locations across Paris.
Hakimi joined PSG from Inter Milan in 2021 and has since become a regular starter for the French champions. He won his fourth Ligue 1 title with the club last Saturday with a 1-0 over Angers at Parc des Princes Stadium. He is also rated as the best right back in the world.
The switch to Under Armour marks a departure from his previous association with Nike, at a time when competition among sportswear brands to secure top football talent remains intense.
Under Armour, which has historically had a limited footprint in football compared to rivals Nike and Adidas, has been seeking to expand its presence in the European market.
Hakimi would be among a small group of high-profile players representing the brand.
