Former US national team player Janusz Michalik believes that London’s Chelsea are ahead of Manchester United in development and will be above the Red Devils next season.
When Michalik was asked on ESPN FC whether Chelsea were better positioned for future success than Manchester United, he said: “By a large margin because they started the rebuilding process earlier, right? I’ve already talked about Manchester United and Chelsea – this season has been disappointing for them and similar in many ways. But there is one big difference: Chelsea have a lot of young players who are making good progress and progressing.”
“The pressure has eased, so it has become a little easier. We’ll see if that continues until the end of the season and obviously next season we’ll look at Chelsea differently because our expectations will be higher.”
“I think we will want to see a stronger Chelsea from the start of next season. We will want Londoners to show that, having spent so much money, they can at least qualify for a top-four finish.”
