In a tragic turn of events, the deputy vice-chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University has reportedly lost his life in a heinous act allegedly committed by suspected bandits.

A devastating incident occurred as bandits took the life of Professor Yusuf Saidu, who served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Innovation, and Development at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS).

The university announced in a statement released on Monday that Professor Saidu tragically lost his life while traveling from Sokoto to Kaduna.

Prof. Yusuf Saidu, the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research Innovation and Development at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, has passed away, according to the statement.

The university mourns the tragic loss of the professor, describing his passing as a great sorrow. They pray for his soul to find peace with God.

He was described as a “man of integrity, religion, dedication, and courage.His absence is deeply felt by all in the University community and beyond,” the university expressed.
