A tragic incident unfolded on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, claiming the lives of at least seven individuals and leaving another 11 with different levels of injuries.

The unfortunate accident occurred on Monday night, precisely at 9:33 pm, near the Ogere area.

Involved in the collision were a Mazda bus, identified by its registration number MNY894, and a truck without a visible number plate.

According to reports, the Mazda bus was traveling at an alarming speed, which ultimately led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.

As a result, the bus collided forcefully with the truck from behind, resulting in this devastating outcome.

In a recent statement released by Florence Okpe, the Spokesperson of Ogun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, it was revealed that a tragic accident took place last night.

The incident involved a total of 18 individuals, consisting of 15 adult males and 3 adult females. As a result of the crash, 11 people sustained injuries and were promptly taken to PATMAG Hospital Ogere for immediate medical attention.

Unfortunately, 7 individuals lost their lives in the accident, with 5 males and 2 females among the deceased. The bodies of the deceased have been respectfully placed at FOS morgue Ipara.

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while traveling.
