Sophia Momodu, the mother of David Adeleke, Davido’s first child, Aurora Imade Adeleke, has responded to a lawsuit filed by Davido regarding their daughter’s custody.

Davido initiated legal proceedings on April 17, 2024, with the case ID LD/1587PMC/2024, in an attempt to secure joint custody of Imade.

Despite their past relationship, Davido has maintained that he has always provided for Imade’s needs. He is seeking joint custody to ensure continued involvement in his daughter’s life.

Momodu, on the other hand, refutes Davido’s claims of neglect and financial support, asserting that she has been solely responsible for all expenses related to Imade since July 2022.

Momodu also denies allegations of restricting Davido’s access to their daughter, clarifying that her actions were limited to personal boundaries.

Momodu asserts that Davido has exploited his social status to alienate her and has issued multiple threats against her after their relationship came to an end.

The court has arranged the next hearing for July 5, 2024, where both parties will have the chance to state their respective cases.
