Kenyan President William Ruto expressed his commitment to carefully selecting a new Cabinet team that will help him fulfill his campaign promises to the nation.
Speaking at a church service in Nyandarua County, Ruto stated that he will not compromise on competence as he seeks to appoint a skilled group of individuals to lead the Executive branch.
He emphasized the need for a capable team that can assist him in actualizing the ambitious goals he set forth for the country.
“Pray for me that I get employees who will help me to actualize the promises I gave you. You want me to build a new government that will unite the entire nation?” Ruto asked the congregation.
The Kenyan leader also acknowledged the criticism surrounding his decision to retain the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, while dismissing the Attorney General and all 21 Cabinet Secretaries.
Ruto defended his actions, noting that he had carefully reflected on the performance of the previous Cabinet and sought to respond to the feedback from the Kenyan people.
“I will plan slowly I see who will help me. Hasn’t it been said that some of them were from Nyeri, others Kiambu, Murang’a. Is there any problem if one of them comes from Eldoret?” Ruto questioned.
Meanwhile, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has advised Ruto to avoid appointing Cabinet Secretaries with a sense of pride, as was the case with the previous team.
Gachagua stressed that the new appointees should prioritize the interests of the Kenyan people and focus on supporting the President in achieving his campaign promises, rather than engaging in political activities.
As Ruto continues his search for a new Cabinet, Kenyans await the announcement of the highly anticipated team that will help steer the nation forward.
