Barcelona are starting to make heavyweight moves in the transfer market. They’ve submitted a contract proposal to Dani Olmo, although their priority is to close the signing of Nico Williams first.
Earlier this week, sporting director Deco met with Williams’ agent to discuss the contract proposal that is on the table for the 21-year-old winger. MD have added light to the proposal, stating that the salary offered will increase over time – similar to the arrangement with Robert Lewandowski. They are expecting a response very soon, despite Williams being on holiday until the 11st of August.
Furthermore, Barcelona are said to have the money ready to pay Williams’ €58m release clause. Once personal terms are agreed, they intend to pull the trigger and notify La Liga of their intention to activate.
Barcelona want to start establishing their final squad for the 2024-25 season as soon as possible, which is why they are hoping for Williams’ answer in the very near future.
