unsubstantiated social media posts have been circulating on platforms like X and TikTok, claiming the purported appointments of three former Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) to ambassadorial roles. However, the individuals involved have categorically refuted these claims.

The posts alleged that former Public Service CS Moses Kuria, Sports and Gender CS Ababu Namwamba and Aisha Jumwa have been appointed as ambassadors to Ukraine, Chad, and Switzerland, respectively.

Responding to the claims, Kuria took to his official Facebook page and verified X account to clarify that “the credible and accurate details about any new appointment will only be shared through my official channels.”

Similarly, Namwamba dismissed the claims, describing them as “upuuus reloaded” (nonsense reloaded).

In Kenya, ambassadorial appointments are traditionally made by the President and officially communicated through a gazette notice, the government’s official publication.

These notices contain information on new legislation, legally required announcements and other public interest declarations.

The gazette is typically published on Fridays, with occasional midweek special or supplementary editions.

Any legitimate ambassadorial appointments would be formally announced through this official channel, rather than through unverified social media posts.
