Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Julius Migos Ogamba has declared a personal net worth of Ksh.790 million during his vetting before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments.
Speaking on Thursday, the Senior Advocate attributed his immense wealth to a diverse portfolio, including a tea farm, farm equipment, motor vehicles, and his successful law firm business.
“I am worth 790 million made up of largely land, I have tea, trees, vehicles, farm equipment and of course the income from the law firm,” Ogamba said.
The former Chairperson of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) is an Advocate at Migos Ogamba & Waudo Advocates, boasting over 25 years in practice.
If confirmed, Ogamba will replace his predecessor Ezekiel Machogu, who previously reported a net worth of Ksh.590 million, accumulated through land acquisitions, ownership of residential buildings, and luxury vehicles.
“I have buildings in Nairobi, three buildings in Eastlands specifically Jogoo Road, another in Pangani area, an apartment in Milimani, at Kileleshwa and another near Yaya Centre,” Machogu had said in 2022.
Ogamba was the running mate of Machogu during the 2022 Kisii gubernatorial elections.
