During his vetting before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments, CS nominee for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, disclosed that his net worth is approximately Ksh 2.3 billion.
Joho explained that his wealth is largely derived from developing undeveloped properties, including homes in Mombasa, Vipingo, Malindi, and Nairobi.
He also cited his shareholdings in various property holdings and family businesses, as well as valuables and cash in the bank.
Clarifying further, Joho stated, “Largely developed and undeveloped property, which includes my homes in Mombasa, Vipingo, Malindi, and Nairobi. Shareholding in some property holdings, shareholding in family businesses, valuables and cash at bank.”
He emphasized that the wealth he declared is solely his own, and not that of his family.
Prior to his nomination, Joho served as the Kisauni Member of Parliament for five years and the Mombasa County Governor for a decade.
He is also the founder and director of Prima Pest and Bins Ltd, the first garbage collection company in Mombasa, as well as the founder of M-tech Kenya and East Africa Terminals.
