Lafey MP Launches Dam and Borehole Projects to Address Water Scarcity in Constituents

Lafey Member of Parliament (MP) Mohamed Abdikheir has taken a development tour in his constituency to provide sustainable water solutions.

Yesterday evening, MP Abdikheir visited the Jabi location, where he launched the groundbreaking of the area’s first-ever dam.

“Once completed, this dam will be a crucial source of water for both human consumption and livestock use,”

. “It is a crucial step in our efforts to ensure that the residents of Jabi have access to this basic necessity.” He added

Following the dam groundbreaking, the MP made a stop at the Kheira Ali center, where he engaged with local residents to understand their priority areas that require urgent attention.

“Listening to the concerns of my constituents is essential in ensuring that we deliver solutions that truly address their needs,” he said.

In the Bambo area, MP Abdikheir checked on the progress of an ongoing borehole drilling project, which he described as “the first of its kind in the history of Bambo.”

He expressed optimism that the completed borehole will “bring an end to the historical water crises that have plagued the area.”

The MP’s commitment to addressing water scarcity in his constituency has been widely welcomed by the local community.

Speaking to Arabia Medua Network Abdia Ali ,a resident of Jabi, said, “We have waited for years for a sustainable water solution. This dam project is a game-changer that will improve our daily lives and ensure our livestock have access to water.”

Haji Adan, a community leader in Bambo, echoed similar sentiments, stating, “The borehole project is a remarkable achievement that will transform the lives of our people. We are grateful to MP Abdikheir for his tireless efforts to address our long-standing water challenges.”
