Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asserted that he will not be intimidated by ongoing impeachment efforts against him.
Speaking in Meru Town on Saturday, September 28, 2024, Gachagua expressed confidence in his position and questioned the motives of those allied with President William Ruto who are pushing for his removal.
He emphasized the unity that led to their election under a single ticket
Sasa itakuwaje hutaki Gachagua unataka Ruto. Kama hutaki Gachagua pia usitake Ruto.” The Dp said
Gachagua further asserted his significant role in Ruto’s victory
The deputy president added
DP Gachagua alleged that Members of Parliament advocating for his impeachment had each received Ksh 5 million to support the motion.
“Gacheri aliitwa kutia sahihi aliambiwa atapewa shilingi milioni 5 alikataa..Gacheri hawezi kuuza jamii yake…,” he stated.
Gachagua urged President Ruto to counter the impeachment plans and allow him to complete his full five-year term.
He also called on MPs to focus on their parliamentary duties and allow the President to fulfill his executive responsibilities.
