Nigeria has moved up three places in the latest Men’s World football ranking made public today by the World Football Governing Body FIFA.

Despite the aborted encounter against Libya, the Super Eagles are now 33rd from 36th, thanks to their impressive performances against Benin Republic in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Morocco jumped one spot in the latest FIFA rankings, moving up from the 14th to the 13th position.

With a total points of 1681.57, the Atlas Lions also retained their continental position — ranking as the top African team on the list.

Senegal comes second in Africa, followed by Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria, and Cote d’Ivoire.

Another North Africa side, Egypt’s rose to 30th, up from 31st, in FIFA’s October World Rankings released on Thursday, while Tunisia dropped 11 places.

However, Tunisia dropped 11 places in October’s rankings due to their inability to secure a victory in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, drawing 1-1 and losing 1-0 against Comoros.

Meanwhile, Ghana has dropped three places in the latest FIFA rankings following their winless run in the October international window.

The Black Stars move from 70th to 73rd on the standings after failing to beat Sudan in their two encounters in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Otto Addo’s side played out a goalless draw with the Falcons of Jediane at the Accra Sports Stadium before losing 2-0 to Kwasi Appiah’s men in Libya.

Ghana, who previously occupied the 70th position on the global rankings, have now dropped to 73rd on the log following the two games.

At the top of the rankings, Argentina, France, and Spain maintained their positions.

Cabe Verde witnessed the most significant decline, falling seven places to 72nd.

In contrast, Botswana achieved a notable milestone by rising seven spots to reach 140th in the rankings.
