Pastor Bolaji Idowu, who serves as the Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), has been released from police detention following significant interventions from Aso Rock Villa and prominent figures within the religious community.

Idowu was being investigated for purported fraudulent activities totaling N1.5 billion and had been in the custody of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.

According to reports from Sahara Reporters indicate that his release occurred late on the evening of December 3, after considerable pressure was exerted by influential individuals, including officials from the presidency and key religious leaders.

In a dramatic turn of events late last night, Pastor Bolaji was released from custody after influential pastors and high-ranking officials intervened at President Tinubu’s Aso Villa, as revealed by a senior police official to SaharaReporters.

The pastor’s detainment stemmed from serious allegations of real estate fraud linked to an associate of Idowu, which had escalated the situation significantly.

Following his release, Pastor Bolaji has been given a directive to return the funds tied to his account within a two-week period, according to the same trusted source.
