Olympique Lyon and Everton have reached an agreement for a fee of around 20 million Euros over the transfer of Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah.

Discussions between Everton and the player are ongoing, particularly regarding personal terms, but optimism prevails among all parties involved.

Nuamah, 21, joined Lyon in August 2023 after arriving from Molenbeek, another club under the ownership of John Textor.

Initially arriving on loan, Lyon activated his purchase option for 28.5 million Euros last summer.

However, the talented winger struggled to make a significant impact during his time in the Rhone.

In 50 appearances across all competitions for Lyon, Nuamah managed just four goals, including one this season in the Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt.

With Lyon facing financial pressure, including the DNCGโ€™s administrative sanctions, the club has been forced to offload key players.

Alongside Nuamahโ€™s impending departure, the club has sold academy graduate Maxence Caqueret to Como in Serie A for 15 million Euros.

Meanwhile, Wilfried Zahaโ€™s loan from Galatasaray was terminated, paving the way for his move to Charlotte FC in MLS.
