Kai Havertz hints at former Chelsea teammates with his Arsenal transfer comment.

The Arsenal striker has no interest in bringing any of his former Chelsea teammates to the Emirates.

Kai Havertz has said he would not want to bring his former Chelsea teammates to the Emirates. The German international enjoyed an impressive debut season at Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta unleashing his potential after an initially slow start.

The Gunners striker scored 12 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League as he helped his side fight for their first league title in two decades. He previously spent three years at Chelsea but never achieved the heights expected despite scoring the winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final.

In an interview with Chinese streaming service iQIYI, Havertz was asked if he would like to bring any of his former Chelsea team-mates to Arsenal, but he insisted he would not make any changes to the current squad. He said:

“I don’t even know, I think we have everything here. I’m happy with the lineup.”

Havertz was then asked whether former Chelsea player Joao Felix would be a good fit for the Emirates club. He replied:

“He’s a fantastic player, definitely a quality player. But yeah, I have to say that I’m happy with the lineup.”

The German international is thriving at Arsenal after a summer move from Chelsea and is an important part of Arteta’s squad. Havertz has earned praise for his recent performances, with the Gunners boss showering him with compliments after his convincing win over Bournemouth.

Arteta said:

“He was incredible today, honestly. Everything he did was smart, the sense of timing, the movement, the way he holds the ball, the way he presses, the way he connects the play, the understanding of the game.”

Arteta was pleased with the impact Havertz and other summer signings had made. The Spaniard added:

“He was incredible today. This is what we were looking for, and if you are spending money, it is better to do it wisely and as efficiently as possible. We are very pleased with the recruiting work carried out, it has had a great impact on the team.”

Havertz expressed his delight at joining Arsenal, citing Arteta’s influence and the support he received. In an interview with TNT Sports, as quoted by Express, he said:

“I have so many good players behind me and I really enjoy being a number 9 striker.”

“We have two more matches left to play and we will give our all. We’ll enjoy these games and see how everything goes. I enjoy every second. He (Arteta) taught me so much, especially in the beginning when it was difficult for me.”

“I’m so glad I ended up here. It was hard at first, but everyone supported me. I work hard, but it’s not easy for me to get into a new team.”
