The striker, who will play for Slovenia at Euro 2024, has become a top target for several clubs in the summer, including London’s Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Manchester United.

But unexpectedly, Sheshko decided to sign a new contract with RB Leipzig, although it contained a gentleman’s agreement regarding a future potential transfer.

This early withdrawal perhaps suggests that the 21-year-old did not want to be distracted by a transfer saga while he is in Germany representing his country.

But now Sheshko has admitted he enjoys being talked about, telling The Sun: “To be honest, when I’m under pressure, I look at it from the other side.”

ā€œIt’s a good kind of pressure. If you get an opportunity where people talk about you, whether it’s good or bad, there’s something about you and that means I’ve done something good in the past and people are talking about it.ā€

ā€œI always look at it from the other side and am happy to be a part of this event.ā€

ā€œItā€™s definitely a good chance for me to play in a tournament like this. I am very proud to be part of the team and to be here gaining experience and self-development.ā€

ā€œThis is very important for me and for my career in general. It was an amazing time and I look forward to seeing you again.”

ŠeŔko scored 18 goals in 42 appearances for Leipzig and 11 goals in 30 appearances for Slovenia.

He is yet to score at Euro 2024, but his side have managed draws with Denmark and Serbia but will likely need a result against England on Tuesday to progress from the group.

ā€œYes, we can definitely catch England off guard. They know we played two great games,ā€ he added.

ā€œThey are not in the best shape right now. Of course they are still good, but now we have a great opportunity to play against them and show them everything we can do. I’m sure we will shine.”
