In a speech delivered in Taita Taveta, President William Ruto has called on the youthful protesters, popularly known as Gen Zs, to come forward and present their alternative plan as they push for change in the government through street demonstrations.

Ruto stated that demonstrations and anarchy will not solve Kenya’s problems.

“They should give us a chance to build our country. They have no alternative plan, what they want is chaos and anarchy. I have told them, that if they have an alternative plan, let them come out and tell Kenyans their alternative plan, let them not cause chaos and anarchy. If they have a plan let them tell us.” The President said amid ulalation from.the mamoth crowd

The President highlighted the various projects the government is undertaking to create employment for the youth, such as the housing program, digital jobs, export of labor, and industrialization.

He questioned the protesters, saying, “What is theirs? They are saying their plan is demonstrations, can you take demos as a job?”

Ruto has previously questioned the aftermath of the Gen Z demonstrations, as the protesters have vowed to continue demanding accountability and good governance.

He stated that he would not allow a section of Kenyans to take the country in the wrong direction.

“Some people think that they will demonstrate until Kenya stops, I want to tell them, that we will not allow our country to be gambled with. We will not allow people to take the country and demonstrate by killing people, destroying properties and burning down government buildings for their selfish gains,” Ruto said.
